SHEPHERD (UAS Standards)

Description

SHEPHERD is funded by EASA under the EU's Horizon 2020 programme. It aims to develop operational standards for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) flying beyond visual line of sight in lower-level airspace. It will create a 'Standard Scenarios Handbook' to aid industry and regulators, outlining best practices, requirements and suggested mitigations for BVLOS operations. The project has a strong emphasis on safety, seeking to ensure operational risks remain acceptable.
