Tartu Science Park is a platform where start-up companies are nurtured into global businesses. Tartu Science Park is the first science park in the Baltics, founded in 1992 by Tartu city, county and two universities. For more than 27 years, they have supported business innovation activities in the region by offering rental space and infrastructure, business support and incubation services. They are the Home of Business.
Tartu Science Park provides access to business development units such as S2B Launchpad, ESA BIC Estonia, SPARK Demo, Buildit Accelerator and an extensive network of mentors, investors and other startup-minded people. To foreign companies, they offer their help in extending business to Estonia where the economic environment is characterised by a qualified workforce, favourable tax system and liberal markets.
Tartu Science Park will contribute to the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) service model, particularly relevant to the concept of service UAS for urban services related to the Living Labs. They will lead the national UAM development and contribute to regulatory and legislative acts and standardisation through close collaboration with national and European regulators and implementors, also by being involved in collaborative activities of the UAM programme under EIP-SCC. They are in charge of the demonstrators’ design; implementation; validation and evaluation; social acceptance and regulatory issues; risk assessment; project results utilisation to implement sustainable business models within the stakeholders; research on and market adoption. Tartu Science Park will also be in charge of building a community for maintenance, evolution and industrialisation of the ecosystem to ensure project impact and results' sustainability.
