We are thrilled to announce our active participation during the Amsterdam Drone Week (ADW). Flying Forward 2020 (FF2020), together with fellow EU-funded projects AiRMOUR, AURORA, RAPID, and Labyrinth will be part of an exciting panel discussion on Tuesday, 21 March 2023, from 16:30 to 17:30 CET.
During the panel, 'Opportunities and Challenges of UAM in Cities', the panel will discuss in-depth the importance of public acceptance, test and use cases, and the purpose of a governance framework for integrating Urban Air Mobility in Europe.
In the coming weeks, more details about each project's contributions to this panel and the experts who take part in the discussion will be published on the FF2020 website.
For questions you would like answered during this panel, please reach out to Lisa van der Heijden (FF2020) at lisa@digie.expert or Renske Martijnse-Hartikka (AiRMOUR) at renske.martijnse-hartikka@forumvirium.fi.
Flying Forward 2020 and all the involved projects would also love the opportunity to interact with attendees during or after the live discussion, so we look forward to seeing you there!
About the Panel
Title: Opportunities and challenges of UAM in cities: Public acceptance, test cases, and governance
Description: The panel will discuss the opportunities and challenges of implementing Urban Air Mobility (UAM) in cities. The five participating projects have experience with test/use cases stemming from project-specific research on UAM. When defining the role of cities, our projects consider that UAM test and use cases must become a mandatory part of the implementation process. This will enable cities to identify potential safety issues, cost-effectiveness and sustainability aspects based on practical experience and ensure legal compliance. Most importantly, test and use cases will help to find solutions for society through dialogue to better understand and meet citizens' and business needs. Thus, test and use cases are essential to creating future-proof solutions that foster trust and acceptance by the wider public.
How do you see the role of cities for UAM?
